Who are we?

Capitus is a boutique tax consultancy specialising in advising businesses and individuals on the tax incentives available for investment in and development of property assets. Our consultants, many of whom are dually qualified, are drawn from a wide variety of professional disciplines.

With surveying, valuation, accountancy and taxation skills under one roof, we are able to offer our clients the best possible advice ultimately leading to the provision of more finance for reinvestment in their businesses.

Established in 1997 by Kevin Meyer and Aubrey Calderwood and joined by Nick Small in 2001, we have grown our business year on year and now provide niche property taxation advice to all market sectors across all geographic areas of the UK, ROI and throughout Europe from offices in London, Birmingham, Belfast and Dublin.

Our clients include some of the UK’s largest institutional property investors and developers, hotel groups, technology companies and owner-managed businesses and we have provided advice on some of the most prestigious property developments in the UK and Europe.

What do we do?

The UK Government operates a complex system of tax incentives aimed at encouraging companies to invest capital in a variety of measures relating to their business and premises. These range from tax relief for investment in new plant and equipment, energy and water-saving technologies and other sustainability measures relating to property such as brownfield land redevelopment, to name but a few.

However, very few companies or their professional advisors are aware of the extent of these tax incentives and even if they are aware of them, rarely maximise the tax relief that these incentives can generate.

Capitus provides the knowledge skills required to maximise these incentives meaning that companies have more money to invest back into their businesses which in turn results in business growth, improved cash flow and in many cases, improved energy efficiency and “greener” buildings.
