Aubrey Calderwood
Aubrey has over 20 years experience in property taxation and set up and ran the capital allowances practice of a "Big 4" accountancy firm before establishing Capitus with Kevin in 1997.
Over the years he has been involved in all aspects of taxation in commercial property transactions such as the utilisation of capital allowances in sale and purchase negotiations, advising REITs on the operation of the shadow CA regime, international tax depreciation analysis and capital allowances planning for JPUT and off-shore structures, to name but a few.
Aubrey has hands-on involvement with all aspects of the Capitus business. In particular he is currently responsible for the Environmental Tax Incentives division within Capitus which advises on the environmental and regeneration tax incentives that are available for sustainable development and urban regeneration. He is also responsible for the establishment and running of the Capitus Asset Tracking practice.

Kevin Meyer
Kevin established Capitus with Aubrey in 1997 and as a Chartered Surveyor has over 20 years experience in property taxation.
He has a broad knowledge of all aspects of capital allowances and throughout his career, has advised on landmark property transactions, acting for some of the UK's largest property investment companies.
Kevin has carried out reviews for a variety of sectors such as nursing homes, hotels, pub companies and major multi-site retailers and has successfully maximised tax relief for clients on a range of major new build and refurbishment projects including numerous shopping centres and PFI schemes. He is also a specialist in cost segregation analysis for expenditure incurred on international property investments and developments.

Nick Small
Nick joined Capitus from KPMG in 2001 and has overall responsibility for managing workload and quality control in our three offices.
He is hugely experienced in all aspects of capital allowances including the interpretation and application of legislation, managing the preparation of capital allowances claims for large institutional-type property portfolios and negotiating and agreeing claims with HMRC when required.

Jonathan Newton
Jonathan is our Midlands office manager and is also responsible for the development of our International Tax Depreciation services. He joined Capitus in 2004.
Joe has particular experience of the preparation, management and negotiation of claims for capital allowances and land remediation relief in respect of some of the largest new build and refurbishment projects across the country.
He is a Chartered Surveyor qualified via the RICS taxation route to qualification and is also ATT qualified.

Andrew Reid
Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and joined Capitus in 2009 from PricewaterhouseCoopers.
He is responsible for providing accountancy support in respect of our International Tax Depreciation services and heads up our Research & Development Tax Relief practice.
Andrew is also responsible for keeping us and our clients informed of any relevant developments in accountancy and taxation and delivers our internal tax technical staff training programme.

Russell Gwilliam
Russell joined Capitus in 2009 bringing a wealth of capital allowances experience to the team. He is a qualified quantity surveyor with considerable construction knowledge and has specialised in preparing and negotiating capital allowance claims on projects for over ten years. Russell is responsible for heading up our ever expanding land remediation tax relief department which continues to go from strength to strength.

Stacey Ferguson
Stacey joined Capitus in 2001. She holds a degree in Estate Management from Heriot-Watt and was the first woman in Northern Ireland to become a Chartered Surveyor via the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors taxation route to qualification.
Stacey is an accomplished capital allowances consultant and has huge experience in the computation and management of capital allowances claims on behalf of multi-property institutional investors particularly in the Shopping Centre and Retail sectors.
Stacey is also a qualified Commercial Energy Assessor and heads our Energy Services practice.

Caroline Salters
Caroline joined Capitus in 2005 and is a highly competent capital allowances consultant. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying and obtained the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification which she applies to the running and managing of large projects.
She has particular experience of large multiple-estate industrial type property and is responsible for the annual computation for a 4000 unit portfolio. Caroline has also unrivalled expertise in the production of capital allowances claims for data centres and acts for the largest carrier-neutral and owner-occupied operators.

Darren Timmis
Darren joined Capitus in 2007 as a capital allowances analyst. Since joining, Darren has been engaged on a variety of interesting projects and has particular experience of car dealerships and serviced offices and apartments.
He is also a qualified Commercial Energy Assessor and works alongside Stacey Ferguson in our Energy Services practice.

Adam Louth
Adam also joined Capitus in 2007 and is currently undertaking his Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors professional qualifications via the taxation route.
He has assisted with the preparation of capital allowances claims on some of our largest engagements and has built up particular experience of multiple retail shop portfolios.

Chris Byrne
Chris joined Capitus in June 2010 as a Capital Allowances Consultant having previously worked for EC Harris LLP in both South Wales and the South-West of England, where he worked as a Quantity Surveyor while also completing a BSc(Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management.
His experience spans a range of sectors, including numerous health and education projects, as well as playing a key role working with Lloyds TSB on their 2008 ‘Your Scheme Design’ refurbishment of their UK branches.
Chris is currently working towards achieving his Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors professional qualifications via the taxation route.

Mylène Dickey
Mylène was born and educated in France. She holds a Masters in Foreign Languages applied to International Trade from the Université de Toulouse II, France and speaks French, English and Spanish.
She is responsible for implementing the administrative aspects of our International Tax Depreciation Services providing translation and research capabilities for our work in Europe, in particular France, Spain, Netherlands and Germany. She is also in charge of the day to day management of our website content and the implementation and management of our external seminar and training programmes.
